Shabbat in Haifa

I went to Haifa last weekend to spend Shabbat with Atlanta friends Moti and Jennifer Cohen. It was great to see them and their daughter Batya who is getting so big. Jennifer's mother and father were there too. It was like I was in Toco Hills again. Jenni made pizza on motei Shabbat. Mmmmm...mmm good. The next day we took a trip to Ako in the north. We visited the old British prison that housed Jewish prisoners. There was one particular room there that I wasn't sure if I wanted to take pictures of or not. This particular room was where they executed prisoners by hanging. Of course I had a difficult time photographing this. I thought of all the movies, books, and pictures I had read and seen of lynchings. I ended up taking the picture anyway for my benefit and as a solemn reminder that there are still some sick people out there.

On a lighter note, I got to see the beautiful Mediteranean Sea. It was such an awesome sight. I stayed with Moti until Sunday afternoon then made my way back to the Old City. Here are some pics of the weekend. Enjoy.
